Abbreviated Transcript of Interview with Daniel Swift

Eric Michaels: What made you decide to make such a drastic change in your life?

Daniel Swift: For me it started with a trip to the hospital at 37. I always had a burning desire not to die and that kind of motivated me to finally overcome a lifetime of obesity and get my life and my health in order.

Eric Michaels: What was the hardest part of this process for you?

Daniel Swift: The hardest part for me, and I highlite this in my book, was overcoming almost 40 years of education and training on how to live my life, what I did, how I spent my free time, excercise, food, not only what I ate but why I ate - and I would say that was the hardest part to overcome.

Eric Michaels: How did the book come about?

Daniel Swift: Well the book actually started just as a journal and after I lost a significant amount of weight a lot of people I knew kept asking me how I did it and what I did and I thought this was the best way to share it with other people.
